High-waisted pants first appeared on the Spring 2008 runways of Marc Jacobs and Erin Fetherston, and now sit on the behinds of Jessica Simpson, and Kim Kardashian; but can a tall girl wear this trend? Oh yeah.

These aren’t your 70s disco-era high-waisted bell-bottoms. Today’s version has an A-line silhouette or skinny leg fit. Fashionistas opt for high-waisted pants because they make tummies seem flatter and legs longer, if worn correctly. Fashion insiders feel these pants may lengthen your legs, but also lengthen and widen your rear-end, creating the "mom jean" look. My suggestion is, if your hips are an issue, get a dark pair in either navy or black and stay away from the tapered or skinny leg.
